Newer 3v Valve Covers on 2004 5.4?
I understand that ford modified the valve covers in 2007 and they utilize fewer retaining screws. Are they backwards compatible? I could have also dreamed this as I hate the valve cover bolts at the rear of the cylinder heads.

No... actually never heard a success story trying this. And just so you know, not all 08’s have the redesigned heads. Motors built after 10/09/07 will have the new heads..
