Everything gets a bad rap if abused, not maintained, or the owner doesn’t realize some parts will need to be replaced at SOME point.

For example, I have a 1999, 220,000 mile XJ Cherokee (with snow plow), sure I have replaced many parts on it, nothing too big though, and it runs great. Last week I spoke with a guy who owns one with half the mileage and he was complaining about how it needed a new radiator, and a couple other parts.

He would dissuade you from buying one, I would encourage you to buy one.
