Plow options for a 2008 FX4 Supercrew
#22
most dealers won't even install a plow that isn't recommended, so if you want something bigger, high unadvised, you'll get to put it on yourself. good think too, i seen jackasses running a 9 foot vboss on 1/2 tons, stupid!
LOL take this with a huge grain of salt

ok im trying to give advice but i cant tell you want to do, i mean if you wanna use a 2008 to plow roads with, by all means go for it, but if it breaks down earlier than expected you know why, i would much rather have a ole beater thats paid for then wreck the front end or whatever when your plowing with a truck that you havent even paid off (yes im assunming you had to borrow money to buy a 2008 f150, if you didnt great for you) i mean so much can go wrong when plowing, i just know it can like say you somehow wreck... i just wouldnt think it qould be worth the risk, im was just saying of you want to plow you can pick up a old truck for pretty cheap, maybe even one with a plow on it already...
I appreciate the advice, but you don't understand my situation. Plowing a couple of driveways with a light duty plow specifically made for half ton trucks is a lot different than plowing the "roads" as you say with a 900 lb 8' plow on a half ton truck. The purpose of the Fisher "Minute Mount" is to get the plow on and off quickly and efficiently so you do not have to keep it on when it's not needed, thus reducing stress on the front end. I realize my truck has its limitations, and that's why I did the research to find a lighter duty plow that will meet my needs. Somehow it seems you have the idea that I am going to make a living plowing town roads and Wal Mart parking lots, when in fact that is not the case. If for some reason my truck does break down, which I dont think will happen, I am A) Mechanically inclined, B) Have a plow guy on call, and C) Have a two primary vehicles in my household. Hopefully now that I have explained everything to you, I can get your blessing and move on with my plans. Maybe I should have been more specific in the first place, but the original question I asked was what my plow options are, not what kind of truck I need, and it turns out this plow is a legitimate option.

i guess for some reason, i was thinking that you wanted to hit the roads in the winter and plow all the parking lots around like all the people i know that went up north during the winter to do it, i would say if its a thing your gonna take on and take off when you done plowing your driveways or whatever youll be fine, and if it fits the truck go for it, im sure it will have the power and the handling for the scale of polwing you want to do, so with all this said my bad for jumping to conclusions, i just didnt want someone to make some stupid decision by thinking they were gonna put a big plow on a brand new truck and hit the roads in the winter and everything be ok, so with all this you have my blessings, but i wan pics with the plow on i think it would look bad ***!

I have a snow-way plow very similar to the one that u are buying from fisher and do about 15 accounts ranging from condos to small commercial lots. U will see when u get it on that u will be able to do more than u think.

Looks just like my set up, I will post pics once I put my plow on it is still alittle to early here in chicago. Do not be afraid to do commercial or residential plowing with that set up u will be surprised how strong these F150s are.
