Plow options for a 2008 FX4 Supercrew
 

I am looking to put a plow on my 2008 Screw. While realizing it will void my factory warranty, I wanted to see what any of you guys may have done for a plow, or if there are any mods that can be done to help out the front end of my truck.

I looked into putting a plow on my FX4. Because of the McPherson strut front suspention a Fisher Minute Mount is out of the question at 900 lbs. What you can do is to install what they call a personal plow. Fisher Makes them Western, Curtis and so on. They aer made out of Kevlar or very light steel. They only weigh 200 lbs. And cost about 3200.00 installed. That'sthe only way you can go. I decided to just keep my Chevy plow truck and run it into the ground the rest of the way.

i wouldn't i see a fella who plows with his and he has stock tires, with a leveling kit and he bottoms out everywhere. the carriage underneath is just thrashed. IMO buy a beater or 4wheeler to plow, no strut type suspension'd truck can handle a plow very well. unless you want some junk poly plow.

Yup! that's why I decided to keep my Chevy for plowing

I just found out that Fisher makes an all steel 7.5' HT(half ton) series plow. It weighs in at just over 400 lbs, and is specifically engineered for todays half ton pickup trucks. The down side is that a plow of any type, even a poly Homesteader, will void the factory warranty.

just curious why would you want to plow with a brand new truck??? i would get a beater like stated and use it, you could get a older f250 with the 7.3 im sure that would be a great plow truck

sadly, that is the case!!! remember it like this when it is cool enough for you to not have to run the A/C full time, it might be snowing up here.

i don't have that problem - in florida it never snows "except" in early thirtys they had a light dusting in northern florida...
