Output shaft seal... help
My front output shaft seal is leaking on my 2004 scab... it has the 5.4 and obviously 4wd...
i need to replace the front output shaft seal as its leaking quite a bit and i'm wondering if anyone here has done it before and could give advice... i have my front driveshaft unbolted from it now but i don't know where to go from there... does anyone know if i have to split the case to do it? i really don't want to and if thats whats involved i'll take it to a shop but otherwise i'd like to

In efforts to liven this thread. I am also searching for how this is to be done. On wifes escape i has a rear diff that it the same as our front diffs because escape is primary FWD. Hers is leaking and if I understand you correctly its where the cv joint splines slide into the differential... Thats where hers are leaking. Wondering what involved or If i should find on with low mile at pull a part and just unbolt and bolt... I am much better at that anyways...
