opinions on buying a high mileage 2008 4.6 2wd f150
Looking at a few 150s and zeroed it down to a couple. The one I am most interested in is a 2008 2wd long bed, 4.6 with 136k mi.
They are asking 7k for it. Seems reasonable. Any opinions, comments, areas I should be concerned about?
ran the carfax, no issues, the PO seemed pretty religous about servicing it..lots of service records. No signs of body damage, painting, or work other than a ding or 2. undercarriage was pretty decent for a new england car. Bumpers had a bit more rust than I would like, but I can live with that.

These posts come up at least once a week. The basics:
1) Ask for any and all service records
2) Take the VIN to a local Ford dealership and ask for them to run a check on all services done by Ford
3) Pay a neutral mechanic to check it all out. May cost you $50.00 or more, but it's the best advice anyone can offer you.
4) Run a carfax on it.

I bought my 06 4.6l with 271k on the clock knew the origional owner kept up all the maintence Been happy with my truck doesn't use a drop of oil. but at 281k it dropped the Trans not to scare you by saying that I'm extremely happy with my truck got the Trans rebuilt and still driving it much cheeper than a payment even with repairs here and there.
