Default Need wiring help

Am installing reverse backup lights. Did much advance forum research in advance. Was led to believe that the blue wire in the pass wiring channel was the one to tap into for reverse power. Did so, but the lights are on even when the truck is not in reverse. What is the correct wire in the pass side trough to tap into if I want the lights to go on when the truck is put into reverse? Thanks for any help.

Not sure what you're adding but try pulling one of your rear tail lights and look for the wire there.

I believe it is pink with a black stripe. I would double check by taking one of the rear lights off.

Also I do not think this wire is on the passenger side, I found it in the wire bundle that is on the drivers side.

Thanks. I read your thread before I started. Found the black/pink wire at the trailer plug, but was hoping to tap into a wire in either the driver or pass rocker loom. Unfortunately, I cannot find that same black/pink wire in the looms on either side. So I guess I'll have to tap into the black/pink wire going to the trailer plug. Thanks for your help.

the black/pink wire is not on the trailer plug, its coming off of the backup light bulb harness on the back of the taillight, so you have to pull the taillight out to get to it - thats the way i did it

the wire for the backup lights on the trailer plug is black/green
