At the time I did not have access to a dyno so performance was all seat of the pants. They sounded good. We put in a stock style so it was not very loud, but had a little rumble at idle and a decent tone at WOT.

Decided To Go With A Cb System. Thanks For All The Info. Just Going To Buy The Muffler That Is Used In The Magnaflow 16612 Kit And Have It Installed With 3" Pipe And A 4" Tip. It Will Only Cost $250 Total Instead Of $550 Or More For The Complete Kit Uninstalled.

i bought a borla kit for 480 and put it in myself. If you crunch the numbers at the local exhaust shop, they will most likely charge out the *** for piping and for the tip plus installation.

I swapped out the stock muffler for a Magnaflow and the sound was basically the same. A little throatier when revved but thats about it. Went with a Thrush 33" glasspack a few days ago. It is a single in-dual out, fits in the same location, takes up less space, and the sound is un-believable. On start-up and when taking off at low rpm it has a deep throaty rumble but is actually pretty quiet at cruising speed. Love this muffler!!

not ever used magnaflow but last year i had a silverado and just put a turbo muffler on it... increased fuel mileage about 2 miles per gallon and sounded great.. not to loud but definitely sounded powerful.. just a thought. stainless is nice that it last a long time...but for me the money is too much. I would want to change out exhaust if i didnt like later and kinda hard to justify changing out stainless.. cost me 300 bucks.. for muffler, all labor and stainless tips since i had sido back..

I bought a Borla 1 in 2 out, and had a muffler shop install it with 2 pipes out on the passenger side 3.5 inch tips 2.5 inch pipe. Deep at idle, and WOT sounds great, but its still a work truck.
