Walk away. You do not need this headache.

OP - you need to realize that, on these vehicles, the front hubs are engaged by default. Only engine vacuum is keeping them dis-engaged.

So, while you may say you wouldn't use 4x4 much, if you have a systemic failure (and it's not uncommon with lack of maintenance), then you may not have a choice...

Good luck with yer search. BTW - look fer a late 2008 model with the redesigned cylinder heads that use one-piece 12mm spark plugs. COP number 8L3E will identify ( as long as they are the originals ).

I was gonna go up there tomorrow and offer them about $8800 for it as is, or $9700ish with them fixed.
