Default Lift questions.

This is more of a general question, than specifically for my truck buto here goes:

When lifting a truck with independent front suspension are there mods that need to be made?
More specifically, the CVS joints, I understand they're designed not to bind, but going to a large lift like 4.5"-6" should you/I/someone get longer axle shafts to keep them from being at such a long angle?

I've got a 6" Fabtech lift waiting to be installed in my truck.
It came with extensions and spacers so that everything is kept at a good angle such as the cv's

You do not need longer cv shafts .. The cv shafts need to be kept level as possible.. With a lift .. This is accomplished with new dropped steering knuckles.

A full lift kit will lower the front differential to keep the same cv angles as a factory truck.

This picture helped explain to me the way the cross members drop things to keep the CV joints level
