Later 2008 5.4 spark plug change
#12
I just did a plug change (along with boots and springs) a few days ago on my 08 with the new design and it was one of the easiest plug changes I have ever done. The worst part of it all was getting all the crude out of the "cups". The fairly open design of the engine bay seems to let a lot of crude up in there. Make sure you use air to blow everything out well as you go. It didn't fix the little shudder I was having but needed to be done anyway and was cheap and easy.

So i ended up canceling my amazon order for the plugs and picked them up at autozone (about 40 cents cheaper a piece) and today i ended up returning them. I pulled a couple (came out easy) and to my surprise, they were in great condition. I've only had the truck for about a year, bought it at 100k, not almost 120k, so i guess the dealership or the previous owner must have changed them prior to me owning it.
All in all, the trucks been running great, no problems with it except for the heat not working (not sure if it has ever worked since i bought it honestly) so i returned the plugs and saved myself about 70 bucks for another day

My AC blows nice and cold, but the temperature doesn't actually change. does that sound like the blend door problem? Heat isn't a big deal for me since i live in south FL, as long as the AC works i'm fine

Yes, or your heater core is plugged. There are two coolant lines that go through the firewall I believe on the pass side. See if both are warm, if they are it is not your heater core. The blend door is inside the hvac system, and this essentially determines your temperature as it determines how much hot/cold is mixed together and sent into the ducts. They are common to fail on these trucks. I had replaced mine, but went with parts store brand. It clicks something awful when changing from highest heat to highest cold and vice-versa.
