Key fob programming
I have an 05 and kept my extra key fob from my 03 Ranger when I traded it in. To program the Ranger, you had to turn the ignition key to the on position five times. It doesn't seem to work with the F150. Anyone know the correct procedure to program the key fob to the F150? Thanks.

Direct from the Ford manual. You need all keyfobs on hand because they all get reprogrammed:
To program the transmitters yourself:
• Unlock all doors using the power
door lock/unlock control. Insert a
key and turn the ignition from
the 1 (OFF/LOCK) to the 3 (ON)
position and cycle between 1
(OFF/LOCK) and 3 (ON) eight
times in rapid succession (within
10 seconds) with the eighth turn
ending in the 3 (ON) position.
The locks will cycle to confirm
that the programming mode has been entered.
• Within 20 seconds, program a remote transmitter by pressing any
button on a transmitter. The locks will cycle once to confirm that the
remote transmitter has been programmed. (If more than 20 seconds
pass before pressing a remote transmitter button, the programming
mode will exit and the procedure will have to be repeated.)
• Repeat the previous step to program additional remote transmitters.
The locks will cycle once to confirm that each remote transmitter has
been programmed.
• When you have completed programming the remote transmitters, turn
the ignition to the 1 (OFF/LOCK) position or wait 20 seconds. Again
the doors will lock/unlock to confirm programming has been
completed.

I did do a search but both times had no results. That's why I asked. Yes, I have an owner's manual and forgot it was in there. But thanks for the refresher course, JERU.

The ranger key Fob may not be compatible with your F150. Do a search on Ebay and you can get them as little as $7.00 each. I bought two for my 08 F150 off ebay forabout that price. I programed one and gave a friend at work the second. He didn't have one and didn't know his truck had the remote door locks until I programed it for him. You may also try the local auto salvage yard they may have some laying around wouldnt hurt to check.
I believe you can have up to 4 fobs per truck programed at any given time.
