This is an awesome idea! I'm finding myself using more and more usb chargers so this would be such a simple solution. Now I just have to figure out what all I want to put on there. Thanks for the instructions!

if the aux on the radio IS a data port. Otherwise the 3.5mm jack is just sound waves, that only requires a left and right channel. USB is actually putting the files into the headunit or whatever is playing, which requires more complex wiring. Some mobile devices do stream the music through the USB, but I believe that requires something to tell the music player, to do that.

You'd probably be better off trying to wire up the plug to a 3.5mm jack like ^^^ said.

I also am one who cannot stand wires everywhere!
I did my 2010 chev express van like this
Now I can just pull the cords out when I need them and tuck them back when I don't.
I have two phones, am iPad, and IPad keyboard, GPS, Bluetooth headset, and a radar.
Love it!
