Help please
I have an 05 f150 with the 5.4 3v triton, the other day it started making noise and shuttering when I pulled over and popped the hood I noticed the air intake hose had came loose from the housing, so I put it back on and drove home, I rely on my truck and can't afford to take it anywhere but am decent under a hood but I'm absolutely stumped as to what could be causing the shutter

I believe the shudder was due to the intake hose popping off.
With the hose loose or off, the engine was drawing in unmetered air that the MAF (Mass Air Flow sensor) was not reading. This prevented the ECU (Engine control module) to compensate for the extra air by regulating the fuel injectors pulse width (richening the fuel mixture). Simply put, you were running lean, and the engine "shuddered".
Every once in a while, give the underhood a lookover, checking for loose fittings, cracked or worn hoses, etc.
