Headliner Leaking
I have water leaking from my front dome lights and just noticed water in the center dome light also. The most plausible cause is the rear brake light, I hope.
What's the best way to check where the leak is coming from? If it is the rear light, could I use this as an excuse to get a new LED brake light?

Yeah, I think all the warm weather melted the ice and let in it...
Is putting in the silicone all that needs to be done? I'd like to make sure that my headliner was nice and dry and get rid of any moisture that is in there already.

Just a thought, it could also be condensation from moist air in the cab. When you have the air blowing it you can in theory push a draft up into the hole cut in the headliner, I have the screw and my headliner has a hole right above my head for the in car entertainment system which isnt there. When that warm moist air meets the cold sheet metal above, water will condense and collect. Now if its below freezing you could end up with a build up of water that freezes instantly which when it melts will fall at once and look like a leak.
I had this happen on a few other vehicles mostly the ones with large cabs. I have the screw and I looked up there when it was frozen and there was a lot of ice right in that hole. When the weather warmed up it came down fast. Now if this happens in rainy weather then I guess you have a leak.

If you do decide to put a bead of silicone around the third brake light, use a small bead, and let it set for a few minutes before re-installing.
Folks make the mistake of using too much, and installing immediately; this causes the silicone to act like epoxy, making it darn near imppossible to remove the item in the future (if you have to replace the bulb(s)).
Read the instructions on the tube. It needs to "set" before installing, and does not require a large bead to seal.

My 04 Lariat has a leak in the back, up by the rear window. When I wash it the water comes through. I really think that its from when the XM antenna was installed on my truck. It was installed before I got the truck and its the only thing that I can think of that would cause my leak.
