Hey folks... longtime lurker, occasional question-asker here... I've used the search function, and have done a lot of searching online, but am having trouble with this question, so figured I'd ask the experts here...

I have a 2006 F150 King Ranch SuperCrew. It has the factory stainless steel exhaust, and I'd like to 'dress it up' a bit with a nice exhaust tip. I've seen all the aftermarket tips and advice on various brands, but I like the way the Ford tips look and I like that they are chromed SS.

All information I've found here and online seem to indicate the proper Ford part number is #4L3Z-5K238-AA for the tip. However, I can't seem to find what the ID is on that tip. I think it might be 2.75". The OD of my tip measures 2.5".

These are really expensive for what they are, so I'm just hoping someone might know or be able to provide some guidance relative to the OD of my pipe relative to the ID of the tip. I'm also checking with Tasca to see if they might be able to tell by my VIN#.

Got a response from Brandon with Tasca and he says my VIN calls for part #2l3z-5k238-aa ... Ford seems so inconsistent with their part numbers!

Looks like stainless to me... it's not rusting, even with all the anti-icing stuff the put down around here in the winter.

Of course, there are a blue million places to look part numbers. The part number that Tasca gave me (#2L3Z-5K238-AA) I found on another site with the following applications:

Ford Explorer 2009 -2010
Ford Explorer 2006 -2007
Ford F150 Pickup 2007-2008
Ford F150 Pickup 1999 -2004
Lincoln Pickup Mark Lt 2006

But I think it stands to reason that it probably fits 05/06 F150s, as well.
