Default Exhaust

Would a single 3" all the way or a 2 into 1 3" into 2 2 1/2's sound better and is there a performance difference?

I have true dual 2.5" with an X pipe and I really like the sound.

The bigger the pipe the more freely the exhaust can flow out of the truck therefore the more performance. Hope this helps!

This is true to a point. If your intention is to make more power, then ideally you're improving the exhaust gas velocity by making an incremental size change rather than a huge jump in pipe diameter, which can actually decrease performance, most notably low-end torque.

For the OP's question, either a 3" single exhaust or a dual 2-1/2" exhaust falls right into our recommended diameters for the engine displacement.

You can read more about pipe diameter on our site here; the red text and the chart are the most important parts.
