Default ECM Flashing on 08 F150
Has anyone heard about Ford being able to track if the ECM has been flashed? I had a dealer tell me they could track it on the f250's and I did not know if he was just trying to keep me from the mod.

as far as i know, they have no way of telling if the computer has been flashed

I've heard this before and also on the new dodges. I think it throws a "ghost" code of somesort that only they can see. who knows though.

it's only trackable by checking if specs match to the flash with a scanner, but only ford knows the right specs.

Yes,a GOOD Ford engineer or possibly a tech can determine if the pcm has been reflashed.There is a portion of flash memory the FORD diagnostic tool can query.

yes they can, but only that it has been re-flashed (file date) . not who or what did it and from whence
