Dumb question...how do you get offest?

You guys seem to have a better handle on wheel sizing than myself. I apologize if I'm butting in OP... I'm looking at 18x9 pro comps with 4.5 bs and -19 os ... I have a 2.5 lvl, will this rub with 33x12.5? I wasn't happy with my last set of wheels and sort of happy 2 got damaged and gave me an excuse to shop. Old wheels were 18x8.5 with 0 os and can't recall bs but they didn't pop out as much as I wanted.

Definitely. 4.5" of BS is as low as it gets for "normal" wheels for IFS trucks and those T Grapps are nice and knobby, so they'll be out there. My 275s on 5.5" BS stick out a full inch if I stare right down from the top of the fender. You'll be able to make those work with a good amount trimming.

OK... when you say trimming I am assuming we are talking about the bumper valance using 4.5bs -19os as it should hang out there. If that's the case I would try to remove and replace with an fx2 valance (if that fits) as it doesn't appear to curl back as the fx4 valance does. Yes 4x4. It has me confused as some companies seem to use a dif measurement sometimes and I've run into less than helpful people on the phone.
Also what is the reason I see some guys using a diffent offset on the front and rear wheels?
Once again OP... apologies for butting in. I'll open a thread after this if needed.

with 4wd, you're gonna have a lot more room that the OP... are you leveled? if you have over a 2" level you can fit 35X12.5's with between 4.5-5.5 inches of backspacing on anywhere from the stock 7.5 inch wide rim to a 9 inch rim (others may fit but i have no idea about those) without worrying much about rubbing. if you need to trim, you "could" try and replace some parts that rub if you can find something smaller; however, it's not difficult to trim this stuff and make it look as if it' wasn't trimmed... the other option is not maxing out the biggest size tire that will fit. I think this was mentioned earlier but look at the real measurements of the tires because the size doesn't always represent the dimensions accurately. the nitto trails say 35X12.5 but actually measure just shy of 13.5" wide and will rub.

the plastic piece between your bumper and the headlights/grill... I used a wood chisel which made it difficult but in the end you couldn't tell it was trimmed. when you get the tires on, if they rub there, you'll see where you have to trim. I'd imagine if you need to trim there you'll also have to trim the splash guard on the lower back part of the front fender too.
