Default Do I need the Ford socket thing to change the plugs?

im not talking about the rotunda tool, i already have the lisle tool. i have read other posts that mention the ford spark plug socket. is this different from other sockets for spark plugs? The tool looks just like an average spark plug socket with an extention welded onto it.

i just used a 9/16 deep socket and differant length extentions. i loosened the plug then used a piece of hard plastic tubing (just pushed it over the plug) to pull the old plug out and start the new plug in

I also used a 9/16 spark plug socket. The socket I have has a rubber boot inside so I didn't need the extra piece to pull the plug out. MAKE SURE the socket is completely seated before you put torque on it! Read my latest thread to find out what happens if it isn't seated.
