CAI/Engine Damage

CAI/Engine Damage
I installed an AFE stage II dry CAI a few years ago and the squealin began. I searched this form up and down for ideas, I changed my belt to a gator, I used a stethascope all over. It sounded like it was coming from the back of the engine/torque converter. Mechanics I brought it to always said belt, pulley, etc. 2 years later I brought it to a new mechanic and he said it was the trans. So I decided that I would drive it until I needed to replace it. For a laugh I brought in to a transmission shop, the trans was fine. The did find that my AFE CAI's nipple for the vacuum hose was not drilled out. They drilled it and the terrible squeal went away. But how much engine damage have I done? Now on cold days when I'm driving I hear a high pitched wine for 15-20 seconds??? Gaskets??

High pitch whine on our trucks is the power steering pump just being cold. I live in Saskatchewan, Canada and our winters are harsh. My 08 5.4L does it and so does my 2013 e-250 gas. It's 100% normal

Thank you. But this is not the steering pump whine at start up, this after the truck is warm. It usually happens the first time I go over 50 MPH/80KMH of that drive.

I think my truck does the same thing, when i hit and maintain about 1650 RMP my engine will whine until i either speed up or slow down. Never found out what it may be though. I dont have a CAI though, just my stock intake.

I've heard of an issue where an o-ring on the oil dipstick tube can fail and cause some whistling, not sure if an indifference in engine vacuum from the line being blocked would cause that to fail or not but might be worth a check. Probably a cheap fix if it is the issue
