When not parked next to something it's no problem. Or with the stopper up in the bed I can toss my groceries in there, but you wouldn't want to do that with the baby, perhaps when that baby becomes a teenager. d:

My sister has 4 kids and she loves the crew. Even with that she's still cautious about where she parks since kids will just fling doors open and into other cars. That said, she needed the middle jump seat up front for them all to fit so if you think you might be having a whole basketball team that's something to keep in mind. Something else is if you buy with the jump seat and want to change to a console later it's likely possible and then switch back.

As for reliability...can't chime in, but someone will.

I definitely think the crew is needed then. I like the scab, but the suicide doors worry me, but I plan to strap a kid in the middle if it comes to that.

I've got a 2004 SuperCrew Lariat and my whole family absolutely loves it. It's roomy as all get out, quiet and smooth enough to not think twice about taking it on a multi-state road trip. This is my first F-150 and I wish I would have had one a long time ago!

I have an 04 supercab, its fine for my 3 year old and 8 year old. It's not the DD, but I take my 8 year old to school everyday in it. I had this 04 when my 3 year old was born and no issue having a rear facing car seat other than the passenger seat needs scooted forward a bit. If you find a supercab in the price and a good deal if it were me I'd pull the trigger on it.

Well that's great to hear. It would be my DD while my wife drives the Grand Cherokee. Luckily she is a relatively short person (5'4") so scooting the seat up wouldn't be an issue.

Plus, I'd imagine the passenger has more leg room in the F150 then they do in the Grand Cherokee (the dash on that thing goes right in the passengers knees, sucks on a brake check).

And what you could do is put the rear facing seat in the middle and then you can get some, if not all of the leg room back. I rarely have a passenger in my truck so it wasn't an issue.

Really this discussion is still going on

Aside from getting a longer axle to axle length, the difference between a Screw vs Scab with the same axle to axle is this.....
you are short changing 1 spot for the other , very simple to understand if you ask me, but seems like most people can't figure this out.......

Same axle length, if you want more bed = Scab = less backseat interior room........you want more interior room = Screw = less truck bed space.

Really how hard is for people to figure this out ?
assess your situation for what you need, not hard to figure out !

if you want more bed then get a regular cab with a 8' bed.
if you want more interior space than a Screw, then get a SUV.

The only people going to make this desicion is you.
