Default bilstien 5100s 37s?

hello all, time for some new skins on my 04 lariat, currently have 6'' rcx, 35x12.5r18 on dc2's. ive heard very good things about these 5100s but im confused, with the lift part of them, are the just replacement shocks that can adjust for lifted trucks or can you buy them for lifted 6''s and the adjust them up an additional 2 for a total of 8 in the front? id like to run 37s for now then do a body lift and 38s down the road but im curious about these shocks also where to buy them any/all info will be greatly appreciated maybe even a few pics

Since rcx uses a strut spacer up front it's just a normal size factory shock, nothing special. You can adjust them up to achieve more lift in the front but I'm not sure how extreme your angles will be. If they are like factory now with the lift then you could bump the bilsteins up to the tallest setting. Just search bilstein 5100 f150 and there is a ton of info on them. I love them on my stock truck, install is pretty straight forward with basic tools.

so with my stock rcx lift If I bought 5100s I would still need to use my strut spacer?

I have bilsteins that were made for my lift so there was no adjustability from them so I'm running a 2" leveling kit on top of them.

Yes, I think they make them to fit 6 inch lifts which would eliminate the spacer but I'm not sure. If they do you would probably have to run a 2 inch spacer on that to achieve your 8 inches.

so say I buy some 5100s and they made them taller to eliminate the 6 inch coil spacer from rcx, I could then pile up to a 2 inch level ontop of that to accommodate my 8 in the front? when I installed my 6 inch in February I had tried to put a 2.5 level ontop of it(what I was running before the 6 inch came along) and it locked my front end so tight I literally had NO play in my suspension? with a 1.5-2 do you think it would be ok or the same thing would happen?

I know on the 09+ trucks the rcx lifts don't maintain factory angles, your current angles are basically like your running a 1 inch level right now. So the most you can add is 1.5 inches which puts your angles to the equivalent to running a 2.5 inch level.
