Ford doesn't manufacture oil, who makes Motorcraft oil??

The different universal fluids are usually high quality synthetic fluids. But a fluid meant for LV cannot be used for other applications. Usually the Ford vehicles requiring LV are the ones excluded from universal fluids. Why is that? Because different additives can't be added to make a fluid Low Viscosity. LV is very specific and can't be substituted, are you sure you didn't get that backwards and LV is excluded?

You can change to Amsoil by just droping the pan and doing the filter, because Amsoil's fluid is compatible. I would reflush you trans and put only Amsoil in if you wanted to go that way. PM me if you want some more info.

Ok do you think it would be ok just to do a few pan drops and refill with amsoil the tranny fluid in my truck only has 40 thousand km on it. I just dont want to pay for a flush again and dont have a extra set of hands to do the flush myself.

Conoco/Phillips make Motorcraft lubircants.
