Default 20in Light Bar in Bumper of an 04

Hello all, this is my first post so bear with me please

Was looking into mounting a 2x20 led in the front bumper of my 2004 stx since it did not come with the two fog lights. I have found that some mounts are listed as 06-08 and was wondering why. I did some searching on here and really haven't much of anything.

Is there a reason that it is hard to find ones to fit my 2004 and how would I go about doing this? What brand do you recommend for the light bar itself. Was looking into rigid industries, but thats a bit pricey for me for a simple mod. also don't want junk though.

thanks

I'd be careful in mounting anything that takes up that much space in the lower grill area (front bumper), as you'll be blocking air flow into the radiator, the transmission oil cooler (if equipped), or causing the airflow to be hampered during idle by the clutch fan. Many already report poor A/C operation during idle, as the clutch fan struggles a bit to draw air through the A/C condenser and radiator during idle. Blocking air flow with a 20 inch light bar will not help this.

Ok that makes sense, what about a couple 2x2s in there. Similar to how they have the super duty fog lights spaced apart? See pic for reference

Get a Westin bullbar and either put some foglights or the led light bar and I'll bet you won't regret it

I like this, as the lights are clean, and leave plenty for air to flow in the lower area (this is where a factory transmission oil cooler would get its air flow from).

I stuck a 32" bar down there and two more in the grille.

The lower one blocks airflow to the trans cooler, but so do all these winch bumpers:

Yeah, that is true about the winch bumpers but i think they look clunky on anything but the raptor imo. Im really considering the two lights spaced apart like the f250 i posted above to preserve airflow. Have you seen anything like that done to a 150? And out of curiosity what brand are yours?

My dad bought a gently used 2011 F150 lariat about 2 years ago. The PO installed F250 fog light pods inboard of the front bumper giant plastic things, but did not wire them up. So dad's truck has 4 'fog' lights, but only the factory 150 lights illuminate. I don't have a picture.

My bars are the $52 amazon ones. They work nice. One kind of buzzes when it's on, but I only noticed it when I was adjusting the bar and had my face up near it. They're wired up with OPT7 brand wiring harnesses. I have one dual leg harness for the two top lights that I installed a few months ago, and went with a single leg harness when I installed the lower bar 2 weeks ago. All of them are signaled by the high beam, so I just have to flick my high beam stalk and get FULLMILITARYPOWER/// output.
