2006 5.4 Rough Idle

Sounds like a lot of swinging in the dark. If that much has been thrown at it I'd just take it to your dealer and have it done. An ids can do a lot more than just pull a code and properly diagnosed. There's prob even a tsb out for rough idle since almost all idle rough to some point. I'd check fmcdealer but just left work.

I have the same exact problem. What i did to verify it wasnt my VCT solenoids is I swapped them. I still got P0022 and P0345 when motor got to operating temp and only when coming to a stop. Ive replaced both CPS and all thats left is phasers and related hardware. Another culprit could be is the phaser jumped a tooth. But... Even if thats the case Im still gonna replace the phaser and related products. If you already have it all open you might as well. Keep us posted.
I'm guessing my issue is cam phaser jumped a tooth, timing chain tensioner is shot, or a bad cam phaser. I unhooked the CPS on bank 2 and my engine runs fine! No bad idle ever..

If you look at my thread, its typical for the tensioner seals to blow out causing reduced oil pressure to the whole system. Happens all the time. This is why simply changing phasers is useless as they normally are not even the problem. The make noise when oil pressure is not up to snuff.

Now rough idle and possible cam phaser issues?
I've been through 2 engines in this truck. This engine had 74k miles when it was put in. The other engine had 105k miles when it was yanked. How many engines does a guy need to put in in order to make it work properly?

That makes sense! But I've yet to find out what the actual oil pressure is suppose to be. I've seen 40-60psi at 2000rpm posted on forums. And my BIL ford tech says it has to be 75+ at 2000rpm.... I think that's really high!

you should be able to find an at idle number.
if you have phaser noise, you will usually find the problem when you tear into it.
Best of luck

Not really wanting to tear into the damn thing at this point in time. We got 2 vehicles and both of us go opposite directions to work. Gotta have both cars. Plus I'd need to buy $200 in tools just to work on it.

What's the oil pressure at idle? 3v have a ****ty idle even when nothing is wrong. Phasers will make noise when they start to go and ud it "jumped a tooth" you will have codes for sure and will run like crap all the way through not just an idle.

Bought the truck about 3 weeks ago 220 km was running great
Then a misfire started
Changed all plugs
Still the problem was there
Changed cam sensors cam solenoidcam phasers and chains. Any Idea was I still have a rough idea at speed

Did you replace the o2 sensors when you did the cats? My 06' will have a rough idle every now and then and I have no F***ing clue what is causing it considering I've replaced every possible sensor, VCT solenoids, timing components with lock outs, FPDM, injectors, fuel rail, COPs, plugs, cats, and I don't even want to continue the list lol. Only thing I can think of is maybe a small vacuum leak or the manifold runners getting stuck or EGR/EVAP solenoid/canister/purge valve or whatever you wanna call it.
