Default 2004 F150 68000 mi

My 2004 F150 with 68000 mi on, is all of a sudden making sound that sounds like mud grip tires on the road. Tires are street type BF Goodrich with maybe 10000 miles. I do not hear the sound when I roll the windows down. That is why I do not think it is the tires, plus the noise does not change with the different road surfaces.
The sound is from under the hood I believe.
Any ideas??????

I would start by checking all 4 tires for uneven wear run your hand over them make sure they are nice and smooth and if possible rotate them and see if the noise moves or changes just to rule the tires out. Does the noise change pitch when turning? If so possible wheel bearing issue. I would start by checking all the tires tho... I'm not a professional by any means that's just where I would start
