08 screw rear shackle drop kit
ive always lifted my trucks not lowered them but this is also my first 2wd. im looking at maybe doing a 2 inch lowering shackle on my 08 screw. I wanted to know how much this would affect towing??? I know it cant really affect it too much seeing you dont touch the leaf springs but w/o the tall rear will it squat too much???? im getting a nice set of 20's and i think it would look nice with the back somewhere near level to the front.

I have the 2" DJM drop shackel's installed on my truck. So far I haven't had any towing problem's. The rear end still sit's about a 1" higher than the front so when I pull a 5x8 utility trailer and my four wheeler it sit's about level.

Dropping the rear of a 4wd
I just bought an '06 F150 4x4 and I would like to level it, but all the kits I see raise the front. I would like to drop the rear instead, would a set of these drop shackles work on a 4x4 or are they only for 2wd? I've found Ford racing makes a 2" drop rear shackle set also, but it just says fits "2004-2008 F150" & doesn't specify 2wd vs 4wd. Does anyone know if these will work on my 4wd? If this would work, any need to change shocks or will stock still work ok?

I just did mine yesterday, I have an 08 lariat screw also. I installed the ground force 2" shackle kit. They make two, one with poly bushings and one with o/e ford bushings, I got the ploy bushings but IMHO get the one with o/e ford bushings since the o/e ford bushings will never need to be greased and the polys will likely. The shackles made for the ford kit are the ground force shackles reboxxed for ford racing. I am putting Saleen 23's and I feel I have plenty of room left. Just search on this forum and f150online.com too for "shackles" , a lot of info on this has been covered before...here is what my truck looks like when done.
