Default 06 XL radio issue

I know everyone says to look at posts up already, and i have and haven't found anything on what im looking for. I have an 06 XL with the normal am/fm radio, and i was wondering if it was possible to switch radios from this, to an am/fm/cassette or cassette/cd radio. Because i dont want a flashy radio and i like keeping things simple and clean. Any input would be great. Thanks for reading.

There will be no issue adding a different after market radio. You will just need an install kit and a wire harness. You could also get an install kit that allows you to add a single din radio.

If you need a wiring harness I have an extra one that I do not need. I would sell it to you for $8 shipped. They are $22 at Best Buy.

You want a cassette player? That will be hard to find on our bodystyle.

As long as you don't get an audiophile unit (3 plugs on the back) you should be just plug and play when you switch out with another F150 with a CD player. Check the classifieds here or Ebay. Should be able to get one under 50 bucks.

Oh, OK, your flashy comment made me think you wanted a ford head unit. I would stay away from a cassette unit, and just get one with a face mounted aux in (a male to male 3.5mm cable can be had for super cheap and should net better sound).

But if your set on cassette, you can look for a double din cassette/CD combo.

What is your price range?

Here's a couple double din head units that look fairly stock. Both are in your price range and have headphone jack (3.5mm) aux in on the front.
