Default 05 Injectors

Hello everyone, not only am I new here but im also a new Ford owner. Been chevrolet man all my life. Recently bought my first ford, an 05 150 SuperCrew, 5.4. I love the truck, but I just read a post that was about 11 pages long about a guy that had an 05 model that an injector caused his engine to go bad. So much was said in the post from different people that I cant list it all here but I did notice that he stated that after the truck sat for a few days without being cranked , it puffed some smoke out upon cranking. My truck has 68,000 miles on it and I noticed mine doing this after it sat for about a week. Do i need to be checking these injectors? I like the truck but Im getting worried that I switched brands

I am the guy with the 11 page thread. The problem with the injectors was related to it running really rough. The engine light will flash if there is a misfire. At that time you need to stop the truck. When my truck blew the engine it was running so rough that the junk in my door panels was rattling, which had never happened.

My suggestion is to take down the FSA number and if you have a misfire error (flashing engine light), then take it to a good dealership and they can determine if it is covered with your VIN and FSA number (field service action).

Here is the FSA# 07M08.

REASON FOR PROVIDING ADDITIONAL COVERAGE
In some of the affected vehicles with 5.4L 3V engines, the fuel injectors may stick open or closed. This concern could cause the check engine light to illuminate along with a hard starting and/or rough running engine condition. In some instances, continued engine operation with a stuck open/closed fuel injector could result in powertrain damage.

By the way, what codes did you have? Any along the lines of : P0171, P0172, P0174, P0175, P0300 thru P0308, P0316, P2195, P2196, P2197, P2198? If so, that COULD be a good indication of a stuck injector problem.... Hope any of this helps.

Hey Guy's
My 05 FX4 with the 5.4 engine runs good when it's driven gently, but when you have to accelerate heavily it starts to miss badly and the engine light flash's could this be a fuel injector issue,I have pulled out all the coils and coated the boots with die electric grease I didn't see any arcing, any ideas?
