There is nothing "official" regarding that on the Ford Service DVD. That statement, like their "its within specs comment" is a line!

Again, I have read the troubleshooting section (its actually posted here) and see nothing about that formula as an "official method" to diagnose correct operation.

Its BS! IMO!

Thanks

Finally got around to replacing my thermometer and I guesstimated I was closer to 40 and I was right, went from 42-45 on cycling, now cycling only at higher rpm's and a constant 40 at the vent on low fan.

Don't think it'll get any better. Oh and it's 90 and humid outside.

I live in AZ too & really wanted this to work, so I gave it a shot since the insulation was only ~$3. It actually listed an R-value of 3.5.

Anyway, not so much. I didn't notice any difference at all. Back to the drawing board...

The drawing board is in a thread titled "compressor cycling fix"

Just did this mod on mine. On a 110F day, I was getting a low of 44F on MAX AC and RECIRC.

Today it was around 100F and I didn't notice any change. Oh well. For $2.00 and 15 minutes, it was worth a shot. Though I have to say that at 44F, it seems cold enough to me and my wife was complaining that she was too cold.

Don't they complain about that anyway!
