Sold my '05 FX4 to my son. It now has 160K miles on it. Original brakes. Still work great.
67K on the '12 FX4. Brakes work great.
Guess they built a couple of the them right . . . .

I wonder how well the brakes held up when Ford did the F150 torture test by hauling timber down rough roads. Maybe the timber acted as brakes when they let off the throttle.

I've got the braking shrudder too. Not there all time. Seems to be only when they get heated.
Been meaning to pull them and have them turned but haven't got to it yet.
If that fixes it then I'll be good. If it comes back pretty quick I'll upgrade rotors.
33k on an 11 model. Lot of towing but I'm very easy on brakes.

No problems here, 60,000 and still fine.
Brakes are very subjective as it has a lot to do with the driver, topography, and weather.

Perhaps Ford should come out with a special brake disclaimer that advises owners that using your brakes in bad weather, on non level terrain or repeatedly during stop and go traffic may cause brake shutter. In the event that brake shutter does occur, Ford thanks you for your purchase, but you are on your own to select and replace the faulty parts since our engineering and quality control departments are unable to specify good quality product to begin with.
Built Ford tough. . . except for the brakes.

I think it would be a very good idea for Ford to offer larger, tow package brakes as an option on F150's. If they engineered and offered retrofit heavy duty brake kits for 2011+ they could even make some money.
Folks who tow, live in hilly areas, or drive hard and brake hard would order that option for sure.
With one size fits all, you end up with folks who use their brakes light to medium duty happy. A good percentage of folks who use theirs at medium duty, having problems. And a higher percentage of folk who tow and expect their trucks brakes to perform well when their F150 is being driven and used like a truck having problems. Ford should have cleaned this up by at least offering heavier duty brakes as an option.
Common FOMOCO, give us "Ford Tough" brakes.

Still sick by what I said. I think Ford brakes suck honestly. I'm not talking about forum threads, although there are a lot of those. I never did brakes until I bought fords. I've had numerous problems with mine. Hell I've done 2 how to threads on them, I've done them so much. Stopped having problems after I stopped using oem pads and rotors
