Two F 150's make Motor Trend's top 10 list!....or is that the bottom 10??

My dad has the 6.2 in his Limited and while it sounds amazing, I just don't find it that glorious of an engine for the power it has. Just as any V8, the peak power just isn't until you get to 4500 RPM. The trans seems programmed to jump up right into 6th gear too. I really don't give two craps about gas mileage (GASP!!) so I'm not going to comment on that. But paying $5,000 more than the 5.0L on some models in Canada totally doesn't make sense to me. Furthermore, a tune doesn't add that much power to the 6.2, whereas the 5.0L and Eco get significant power upgrades from a simple tune. Just IMO.
I find a 6.2 vs Eco thread more entertaining than a 5.0L vs Eco thread. Why? because in the 5.0L threads some guys cross-shopped with the Ecoboost. 6.2 guys don't go near 'dem V6's.

I think one of the biggest problems is the nannies. Stock, as soon as the rear tires start to slip, it pulls power. Now I can burn 'em down to the cords and the shifts are much better.

I also cross shopped the ecoboost, was thinking about buying one for awhile, then though hey theres no replacement for displacement as they use to say haha, test drove them all, 5.0 at work which felt powerful when i first drove it, then tested a eco and 6.2 at the dealership, one thing i found was how the eco felt like a regular v6 from a dead stop. Hit the gas felt nothing then 2500rpms hit and tons of tire spinning power. 6.2 felt more natural, what im use to, power right through from a stop. Now its tuned with exhaust and CAI, and wow, also tows awesome. Gets better/equal mileage as my dad and buddies "gods gift to engines" hemis, haha thats what dodge guys think anyway. Mileage is also regularly 18mpg highway, cant hit 19 sometimes, longer the trip seems to net better mileage, not sure why. Also, dont like the quietness of the turbos, love how they sounded in the old powerstrokes, was hoping for a lil bit of that.

He didn't say you weren't qualified to speak, he said you don't get it. I've driven an Eco 20 times before I got mine as my two best friends owns them. I bought a 6.2 and it wasn't because the number 6.2 is higher than 3.5. You ecoboosters just love to jump in on any thread that has 6.2 in the title and try to qualify your engine as being the best and if you think that you would be dead wrong in the eyes of anyone who starts up a 6.2 everyday.

I think some like to comment because they take offense to some people's opinions as if the person making the comment were talking about them and their engine. They can't help but respond out of defense. People just got to understand that everyone is different and what you look for in a truck is different than what I look for in a truck. Just because you state your opinion on why you bought your truck does not make it fact and you have a right to your own opinion, which people need to understand that. Now, if you were to knowingly or unknowingly spread misinformation then yes I would ablige them with a factual rebuttal.

I have never said anything derogatory about the Eco and if I did it was all in obvious fun. I know the OP owns an Eco that's why I jumped in here to say 6.2 owners don't care about gas as the thread is about Motor Trend downing the 6.2's MPG. I actually enjoyed the 2 words describing the Eco thread. Some of the posts were hilarious but didn't put my 2 cents in.

Big surprise...
5.0 guys
EB guys
6.2 guys
Everyone has the best engine
Does anyone really care?
Until someone starts paying for my trucks other than me I might care.
Till then I'll pick what I want....it just happened to be the EB.

I just don't understand why someone who is willing to pay the coin for the 6.2 (both up front and at the pump every week) wouldn't buy a 5.0and stick a TVS/Whipple on it and call it a day. Seems like it would be amore fun truck, unless you stick a blower on the 6.2 lol.
