I have seen a couple other posts on the subject but thought I would mention my situation for what its worth.
Not sure that is the problem or this is but you could try a couple of things. first turn the ignition to the on and of course have your foot on the brake and shift it out of park down to neutral and try starting it, sometimes the safety switch in the trans park position can go bad, need a cable adjustment or just wasn't fully engaged! If it starts just work it back and forth from drive to park a couple of times and see if it will start in park. If so it was either not fully engaged or maybe some dirt in the switch.

What do those symbols mean? Is it indicating that the vehicle is attempting to start with a key without the chip inside?
The truck got a viper, I believe, starter put in it about two months ago by a reputable installer. It has worked great from day one. Any help before I go home tonight would be appreciated.
LET IT SIT 10 MIN WITHOUT THE KEY IN THE IGNITION. THEN TRY AGAIN. This happenned on a chevy colorado a couple of times. I had to wait 10 min with the key out of the ignition for the AT to reset. Truck turned on after that with no issues. I did not have anything aftermarket installed on it. Today my f350 did the same thing with the AT light on. Assuming it was something else, i tried bypassing the starter by connecting the brown and red wire by the passenger battery box directly to the pos terminal on the battery. Engine turned but did not run. Reconnected the wire and teied starting it once again and it worked but the AT light is still on.

I have a 2009 f150. My husband is the driver. He moved it earlier today, I get in it to run an errand and it won't start and the anti theft red light is continually blinking. We only have one key for it and no lock system. I've tried moving the steering wheel. Turning the key to the on then off position 3 times slowly, disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it, taking the truck out of park and into reverse, etc. Nothing is working. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

It is nuts! The same thing happened to me. Ran several checks but the one that solved the issue was tilting the steering wheel up and down a few times.

Tried all of this several times and was ready to give up when I thought, why not tilt the wheel up and down just to try something else and bam it's all good and the truck started. Just a glitch????? Dealer stated he had never heard of this issue.

Oh boy -another first post digging up 10 year old threads. LOL

Please check your user settings and disable the option called "related threads". Unless you purposefully answered a 10 year old question.

Looking at the last post, I’d say you may be right… partially. But looking at the last half-dozen or so posts, it gets revived every so often. Because… someone else has the same problem and they’re looking for similar threads of the same problem. So in that case, I think it’s ok. That’s why there’s access to archives. As long as these trucks still exist, then so will the potential fo4 others to experience the same issues. Hopefully, this info access will continually help others.

I had the exact issue with mine (2009 F-150 xlt trim) i had just bought. Security light came on and nothing i did can get it to work, called a locksmith to reprogram the keys but wouldn't let him do it. He can see that there was 3 keys registered to the vehicle. Now I knew it was an electrical issue, I first looked for added components and found a remote starter was installed along with a bypass PATS bypass module made by idatalink model ADS-TB(16) to be exact, i simply disconnected it and tried it with the key, low and behold it fired right up. hasn't given me any issues since, seems the module went faulty after i disconnected and reconnected the trucks battery. Thought i'd share, may help someone down the line. From my experience, when i get any electrical issues a lot of times i look for modifications and is often the source of the problem as this was the case for me.
