If you live somewhere cold and you are not in a garage or plugged in, you want a dry cell battery. I have a north star dry cell. Truck has never been plugged in and sits on the street all day at home or work. Oddysey is another big name brand battery that you pay the prime for the name but it's worth it. Mine is 950 cca and also jumps to 1700 ca for 5 seconds for cold starting. Both have websites. Don't waste time on cheaper battery's. You don't drive a civic and these have 4+ years of full warranty replacements, not pro rated. Good luck. Dry cell cannot freeze and is 99.9% lead plates. It weighs approx 70 lbs. good luck dude.

Big fan of the Motorcraft batteries too! Always have gotten 5-7 years out of one. And just like how you can find a Walmart anywhere, you can usually find a Ford dealer that will warranty you anywhere in the country too should you need it.

Picked up a 65 Series 850CCA Motorcraft at the dealer for $120 about 3 months ago or so now.

Not true. My battery just died on my 2010. 3 years old. I bought the truck 7 mo's ago with a certified preowned 12mo bumper to bumper warranty. The catch is batteries are considered maintenance items and are not covered under warranty. Also since I had no recipt for the battery and they don't mark the date at the factory when they put them in I ended up paying for a battery at the dealership. I did take this up with Fords regional customer service who agreed with the dealership.

+1 on the Motorcraft. I've NEVER had a Interstate battery in a vehicle that lasted over 3 months.

I upgraded the size of MC battery in my wifes 2010 Lariat. Replaced a 7 year old MC battery in my 2002 F-150 K/R, put a MC in my 1995 40th Anniversary T-Bird, also in my sons 1998 Excort ZX2 Cool.

I believe they were $165.00 installed.

After always buying Optimas, I wanna say avoid them. Last one I bought lasted 8 months in my '03 Cobra and my buddy bought one last year for his '02 Camaro SS. It's been replaced twice under warranty already. Ridiculous for a $200 battery.

I'd get the cheapest one with a decent warranty.

As with anything, you need proof that you bought it and when you bought it. The post you're responding to BOUGHT a Ford battery at a dealer, and pointed out that any Ford dealer would replace it, under warranty, with proof of purchase.

So what's the going price for the ones that come in our trucks from the factory?

Just paid $120 for the 850CCA at Paul Cerame (off I-270) a few months back. But I think the original battery is maybe 650? Either way the 650 and 750's were $110. Figured it was worth the extra $10

I am in New Jersey, so I experience every type of weather situations these days. Winters are getting colder and the summers are getting hotter. So from the posts, should I be looking at sears and auto zones for batteries? You guys just gave me so many options I don't even know where to start !

I think I'm going to go with the sears diehard platinum.
