I just picked up a 2014 STX Sport w/ the 5.0. I have already done the Roush intake and tuner. The intake sounds so good. You can really hear the engine. I also picked up over 2 MPG when cruising at 65.

I would like to do exhaust. I have debated two options. I have MAC chambered mufflers on my Mustang and absolutely love its sound. I have been wondering what a weld in chambered muffler would sound like on the new 5.0's.

What are your thoughts. Would it be too much drone in the cab?

I also like the OBX exhaust but not sure of its quality. My friend has the Roush exhaust on his truck and while it sounds good outside, it is almost unbearable in the cab.

Your more than likely to get some drone from a chambered muffler than a straight through design. If you are leaving your factory resonator in shouldn't be too loud with any choice. I am running a Borla 40482S with resonator delete mid pipe with Airaid jr CAI. Absolutely no drone, nice rumble and talks under acceleration. Running a open filter though may cause some slight vibration in your dash too when you accelerate hard. If you leave the resonator in it will be better for eliminating this because the CAI you just installed probably raised you exhaust note already as I bet you noticed. Depends on how loud you want it. Short muffler equals more volume as longer is more quiet.

any straight thru design muffler. IMO, don't drop the coin on a catback, the stock piping is big enough and flows just fine. Replace the muffler and run the exit to your liking.
