I've noticed about a 1-1.5 mpg difference this winter. I chalk it up to the gas as I've experienced that in nearly every vehicle I've owned.

Just caught this thread. I have a 2012 eco with a 6.5' bed. 51,000 miles. I used to get a steady 16.7 MPG. Now its 12.3 (ish)

I have never heard about the carrier bearing thing. I was going to replace the spark plugs this weekend in hopes of regaining back my MPGs.

I have a 2012 screw ecoboost and I was getting 12 mpg.
I cleaned the sensors and it improved a little but jumped up to 17mpg when I changed the brakes and rotors.
I had a warped rotor and the extra drag was bringing the mpg down.

Was this a gradual decline for you or did you make a change to the truck and then instantly saw a drop?
Winter is definitely giving me worse mpg.

SP534 Spark plugs gapped at .030
Drill your intercooler
Clean your sensors
Change the Air filter
Check fluids and change if needed

What would drilling the intercooler do? I've never heard that

Condensation can build up in your intercooler, drilling a small 1/16th hole in the bottom allows the water a place to drain...and not go through your engine!

Its the must do modification on the ecoboost. Cures the water ingestion issue and the shudder issue. Even if you have never experienced it, doesn't mean it won't happen.

and this could help with mpg? Getting 13 going 65 mph is a joke. Happen to have pictures or a video of where I need to drill? I've done all of the other stuff to help mpg like plugs sensors and new filter

Doesn't help with MPG. It stops the water buildup that can get sucked up into the motor and cause a CEL/Engine Damage/Shudder/Power loss. It usually happens when you press into the throttle while merging or passing.

There is a huge thread in the engine forum on this. Lots of videos, how to's floating around but here you go.
