Default Terrible gas mileage! Ecoboost

I have a 2012 eco with 65,000 miles and my fuel mileage is crap. It wasn't always like that. I'm getting 12 mpg highway.... even going 65. No idea why I use to get 16-19. What can I do? I talked to ford and they didn't seem to have a solution. I have a cold air intake and exhaust and toyo mts but my mileage was still better a few months ago. Please help!

I had a similar experience just recently. 2013 FX4 eco 20" wheels, leveled. I was consistently getting 17-18 mpg highway over the last several years. Then all of sudden i started getting 15 mpg driving the same route every day. My tires were original and my truck had 48,000 miles on it.

I went and got new tires, did an alignment and replaced my air filter since I couldn't remember when I had last did it but know I have done it at least twice.

I have driven it the past two weeks and just logged 17.2 mpg and this week I am at 19-20 mpg but expect this to go down since I just filled up. I have never really seen 20 mpg so this is encouraging.

So, I don't really know what resolved the issue but I would of thought it was the tires since I let them go way too long. I am sure the alignment also helped. The air filter didn't seem overly dirty to me.

I would check these items on your truck.

Do you have the 6.5 bed? If so, your carrier bearing may be going bad.

winter blend fuel will always take a toll on fuel economy. make sure the air filter and MAF sensor are clean as well.
