I have a 2012 Sony system with nav and everything worked fine. No problems other than I can't send texts but they come in fine.

you can now receive txt msgs and the bluetooth resumes after ignition cycle? How long did the install take? Did you get voice prompts during install?

will have to do a check on the bluetooth as I rarely use it. But everything else is working fine. Install went really fast less than 10 min. Didn't get any voice prompts but system rebooted after install screen said install was complete.

V4.4 is a software update available for 2010-2014 model year vehicles equipped with Gen1 SYNC...
I don't know whether to laugh or cry...

FOUR FREAKING YEARS for Ford to finally release some badly needed fixes for my 2011 FX4 Sync system and it still pretty much Sycks, and the update breaks almost as many things as it fixes.

Before the update my usb would randomly stop working and the truck would switch to radio all the time when you shut it off and restarted. After the update the usb doesn't recognize my flash drive (tried 2) at all. It just says not available.

After dealing with this crap for over 2 years my next vehicle won't have Sync and if that means ditching Ford so be it. Is it too much to ask for a stereo that actually works correctly in a $40k truck?

No s^*t. This is sad. They come out w 2015 redesigned, finally give us an update that def was not tested nor worthy of release. Ford is slipping.

What kind and size of thumb drive did you use. I have yet to have the usb see the install files as the only files (and directory) on a FAT32 formatted USB. The USB charging seems to work but as far as reading data, that's a negative.

This situation is particularly troubling and ironic in light of Ford' vehicle connectivity chief Don Butler's recent comments....

“We’re not handing things over to Apple and Google", but will continue with the Sync AppLink platform. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay will merely be interfaced with [yeah, right].

Considering that they can't get even one bug-fix update properly tested and released in over three years, maybe they should hand things over to Apple and Google!

it was just an old 8gb sandisk cruzer that I have had forever. Formatted with disk utility (Mac) to fat32 and it worked like a champ.
