i see your dimentions , the front of the box says 10" tall , does that give enough play for the seat to sink when some one sits? i am looking for the best dimentions with the most box i can fit i that makes sense

My dimensions are almost the same as stormsearch, I can't find my notes but I believe my height is 9in just shy of stormsearch's specs. I'm at .65 cubic feet.
I'm using a Pioneer 12in Shallow mount:
A buddy recently built a system with this box, he's very pleased with the results:

I'm sorry been offline for awhile. I've had this setup now for several years, and still lovin' it. I built the box with cardboard cut-outs first so the lower seat position, simply rests on top of the box. When you sit on the seat it push down slightly more on the box. But, this is 3/4" MDF, pocket screwed and glued. It has some serious rigidity and strength.
Make the side panels first - from there make the front/back plates to the length to get your volume. I made a prototype side panel out of mdf second, then made slight adjust ments from there to make final pieces. The top center pieces were cut at angles for tight fit, definitely need a table saw for this for better precision. I used scrap wood to get the angles perfect.
Volume is right at 0.5 cu ft as mentioned which is the desired for the SI driver.
