Some good info on this thread as I'm in the market as well. Any updates with this install? Very interested in this option.

Just received the parts today, all parts are new and genuine Ford parts.
However the temp dipped over here from the 60F last weekend to 15F today. I will be waiting for it to warm up a bit before I install it.
Once installed, I will still need to get it activated. Hoping to have that done next weekend. I will let you know how everything goes.

Good deal, thanks man. The snow here ruined my plans for the truck as well!

Well, I installed everything today, The VSS alarm is setup and operational, I had to set it sensitivity down, because a stupid cat keeps jumping on the truck and setting it off. I will have to call the dealership in the morning to setup a time to get the Remote Start activated. I will let you know how that goes.

The total install time was about an hour, 30 minutes of it was getting the stupid alarm LED to fit where i wanted to install it (I would recommend that you skip this part). The part install itself took about 15 minutes and then another 15 minutes to to tidy up the wires. all in all not too difficult to do.

Might help people see how easy it is to install.
Unless of course someone know a location already online and has a link to it.

Found this video where the tech installed in in just under 5 minutes.

For just this remote start system with the remotes. No alarm, I have a perimiter alarm.
Can anybody that has installed this system please tell me Fords part number and everything I need to do to install remote start. Then all I have to do it take it to the dealer and have it turned on by the service Dept..
Thanks.

The long range (1,000ft) system requires the alarm.

The 100ft does not require the alarm and is the same as the one that comes pre-installed on a truck from the factory if you order it that way.

They both require the hood switch if you do not have it.

Let me know which you are looking for and I can post the part numbers for each.

I have a factory alarm with a Hood switch. There is no light on the truck to let you know its there.
But when you lock the truck if you use the key to open the door. Or reach in the window and open the door the horn starts honking. Guess its the alarm with the perimiter alarm.

I thought somebody posted something about a remote start Unit to work with this alarm
