My rear defrost has stopped working. I assume all of these problems tie into one another. Is there a TSB out about this? I'm going to the dealership in the AM and if like something to reference them to.

It is fully closed. I made a video of the defrost refusing to work. In the video I open and close the rear window to no avail.

I found a great site for locating TSB's,

2011 Ford Lariat- back window right side, thought someone had taken a shot at me,checked the trk. for bullet holes, none to be found! About 2 days later I was looking in rear view&seen the shattered right rear window! Called my Ford dealer, they hadn't heard any thing from Ford!!! My insurance will cover it!I might not use the rear window heat in cold weather again

Mine is being replaced under warranty tomorrow. Mine hasn't exploded, it just stopped working.

Default F150 Rear Window Breakage

Last year I turned into my apartment building drive way and my rear window cracked into a thousand pieces though remained in place. The cracking was accompanied by a loud bang. I believe the problem had nothing to do with the rear window defroster as it took place in the summer. More likely it was the frame flexing and putting stress on the window as the turn into the driveway is a bit uneven. Anyways, the dealer referred me to a subcontractor who charged me $750 + HST to fix.

Guess what! The bloody same thing just happened to me again! I pulled out of the driveway of the Park'N Fly at Toronto Pearson Airport on Thursday night and heard a loud bang. I did not know where the noise came from until I started my truck today and saw the shattered window. The F150 is a great truck but there is a flaw in construction that should be fixed by Ford. I am not doing any heavy off road but driving on normal highways at normal speeds.

I had my rear slider replaced by the dealership and they let me keep my old sliding window. What do I do with it now? You think anyone would want a power slider with a non-working defrost grid?

Hi Earl the Pearl,

This is unfortunate and I would like to look into it. Have you taken the vehicle to your dealer? Please send me the year and current odometer reading. I will research the available options.

@ 65k, my rear window defroster quit working and i finally got around to taking it into the dealer @ 71k...my aftermarket 100k extended warranty doesn't cover glass - $800 cash out of pocket to fix it. No questions asked...doesn't matter...no glass coverage period.

In guessing they checked the fuse first
