Default A new 2011 factory Hot Rod F-150 ?

Until Ford makes a new Lightning, I have been batting this idea around for a new factory hot rod F-150. (5.0...3.55 L/S...Foglamps...etc)

I was talking with a salesman at a Ford dealership about this combo and then the idea came up about ordering the truck very similar to the truck below, but that the dealer would add better looking wheels at the dealership, (probably the 18 inch versions)

So this salesman says that he would talk to the owner about using my truck to display in the showroom as a dealer special package, and I would get a discount on those 18 inch wheels and tires in exchange.

I would say this combo would run high 14's or low 15's.

Just wondering if the 3.73 rear end is available with your setup?

edit: The Ford site says I cannot get 3.73s with the 6 1/2 foot bed, but I can get them with an 8 foot bed ???

Thats because you probly need to add 4x4 or Scab to get the higher gears.

Have you driven a truck with the 5.0?

I drove a 4x4 Platium and it was night and day from the old 5.4. I think high 14's low 15's is quite possible in the above stated form. Don't single cab Tundra's with the 5.7 run in the 14's?

Here is a video of a Tundra in the 14's. Don't know if it is stock.

pickuptrucks.com ran a 3.7 v-6 reg cab @ the track and got 15.80's.

The Eco-boost Ex-tended cab ran 14.60's.

I see the 5.0 reg cab running high 14's.
I believe the best package here would be to have the dealer install steeper gears when the truck is delivered new.

After that, a flash tune, and drag radials should get it into the upper 14's .
