I have the shudder (even unloaded) and the bump/slip issue on my 2013 Supercrew with 6.5' bed. In the videos that were posted, it seemed like the issues are likely connected. The axle wrap makes the slip joint work excessively. The dealer already fixed the bump/slip on mine once under the TSB (lube the splines), it came back after about 1000 miles. They told me that the shuddering is "normal" and didn't do anything about it. Thanks!
Hi 07SCrew,

When was your most recent dealer visit to have the bump/slip and shudder looked into? Please let me know, along with your mileage, and I'll check out some options.

I have it on my '14 FX4 SCREW as well. It has been to the dealer several times for the bump and vibration.

They are unable to fix either.

I went and bought the helper springs and clamps over lunch. Thank you for sharing the information. I will update after I install to let you guys know if they also take care of the problem for me.

Got the helpers installed tonight and took it for a drive. Unfortunately, they didn't cure my acceleration shudder. It did cut it in half, I would say. I will drive it for a few days and see how it does. Maybe try the tighter setting on the helper (I set to "medium"). FYI, I installed the Superior 11-1020 helpers.

Wow, what a great thread. Can't believe I didn't see this thing a long time ago! If I didn't miss anything PRND ended up happy with the under leaf helpers? And Viszla was happy with the Pro Comp AAL? Anybody confirm that the Pro Comp p/n 13137 is the proper AAL?

So basically, my take away is either of two solutions:
- Pro Comp AAL 13137
- A generic under lead helper like Superior 11-1010 or Hellwig 2002

Searching the Advance Auto website, looks like they now have one designed for 3in leafs, although it is an OVER lead helper. Would this be helpful? I'm still trying to fully understand the physics of axle wrap.

Over leaf helpers for 3in leaf
