Can you fill a swimming pool with rice and park the truck in it for a week or two?

Works for when my wife drops her cell phone in water

Its only money, you will always make more! I think 60 bucks a month more and 5K is well worth your piece of mind! Post pictures of the new one when you get it! Oh yeah almost forgot, next time your buddies say its not that deep tell them why don't you try it with your own truck! LOL

For an additional $1500 and $60 a month, I can make it all go away and go home with a truck that I know for a fact is reliable and dry. $1500 is what it costs to rent a car for 2 weeks. That made the answer very simple.

So I'm waiting on my cosigner to ship a signed document out here, then signing it myself and finally going home. I've been sleeping on a friends couch in new england (I'm from Minnesota) since February. I want to go home.
I was thinking that perhaps you should drive it a while then see, but considering what you been through, I like your plan. The dealer knows the reason for trading it in, ethically, you should feel comfortable. Good luck and enjoy your new ride!

You've still got the warranty for a bit longer and they cleared the truck from the previous incident so you are covered.

Its not like it was submerged so I wouldn't expect any long lasting effects. Also its good you got out of water before stalling or shutting off engine. The exhaust could have sucked water back into the engine.

Any electrical issues would be showing up now unless it was salt water that could cause corrosion over a long period of time.

Plus you will greatly devalue your trade if you have an incident and then try to unload the truck immediately.

Its not cleared if they hung Flood Damage on the title. Value of the truck just dropped at least 50% or more.
And that Flood Damage on the title would wipe out any warranty from ford.
If I get an RV in with flood damage, which I do around here, Warranty is Null and Void
Your way out of $1500 and $60 a month is a few bucks, but it sounds like the smart move.
Not only that, its nice to sleep at night
Not only that, with everything right down to running windshield wipers is computer controlled...dump it.
