Just got mine installed. Thanks to the OP for suggesting to jumper the #9 relay for constant power to the back of the truck. This also helped me find out why the battery on my trailer wasn't charging. Had a blown $4 (cough, cough) fuse. Not sure why they need such a fancy fuse when that is the only thing on the circuit. Starting to miss the old (cheap) horseshoe fuses.

Here's what I have in my 2005. 16 foot roll of LED was $8 from amazon and I used a 16mm round rocker that perfectly fits in the top hole at the end of the bed. Very useful when camping.
Do you have any pics of the LED strip installed without the light on? I'm curious how you mounted it. The gap at the top of the bed is relatively narrow and there are plastic clips from the bedcap that poke through.

Tiny zip ties and secure the light strip to the protruding plastic clips.

its mounted on the side wall almost level with the rail over hang. It's not visible when you walk by. Another reason its not on the top is if I get a canopy the clamps will smash em. from amazon . of Triangle Bulbs T93007 - Waterproof Flexible LED Strip Light, 300 LED's, 3528 SMD, Pure White, 16.4 feet / 5M Sold by: Nice Goods Here
$1.79

Ended up getting 4 rolls to use around the shop/house also my safe. I do see they are $8 now.

I have to put my LED strip light between my Leer tonneau clamps for the exact reason, they will crush the strip if I mount it to the top. The clamps are also as wide as the bed rail gap, so I can't do a full length on the side wall either. I also have a bedrug which fills the gap, which doesn't help. I may use a piece of aluminum angle mounted to the inner lip of the bed rail between the Leer bedcap clamps.

I cut and pasted this from my own thread. Last thing I wanna be is a newb but that thread has 108 views and no responses. I hope someone can answer my questions.

1. A buddy (and this site) said I can tap into the rear 7pin harness. I read that I have to install some connector that is from the factory (little grey box with 3/4 wires in a baggy in my glovebox). Is this true? From what I read on page one and two of this thread was if I want a constant hot I have to wire that harness in my glove box. Am I correct? Also what is that harness used for?

2. Should I add a fuse between the 7pin and the switch?

3. I'm pretty sure I'm going to tuck my wiring up under the bedside, down the stake pocket and install the switch in one of the holes at the rear for the extender.
Have others done this and are you willing to post pics so I have a reference?
I see others have from the first couple pages, it's a clean install.

4. Is 20g wire going to be sufficient? Which size fuse should I use if one is needed?

I'd like to tackle this in the next few days.

I have a camper shell too, and just zip tied the light strip around the clamp I think. There's enough slack to remove the clamps if I ever need to take the shell off. I'll get you guys pics in the next day or so.
