I can build a float mount for anything.. I've been fiberglassing for a long time! If you're ever interested in one I'll just buy a display version of you nexus and build it around that.. might as well make sure its done right! Check out my ipad build n you can see the craftsmanship

I've been running an iPad on a RAM mount since day 1 on my 2011 FX4. I absolutely love the capabilities an internet connected tablet gives me. The mini will mount up less intrusively in most cars, though I would likely still opt for the regular iPad in a vehicle as large as the F150.

Custom in-dash mounts? I love the idea, but RAM solutions are so easy, convenient, and comparatively inexpensive, I don't feel the need. Nor do I want to give up the OEM controls in my truck.

Pandora, GPS apps (Waze is my current favorite), weather apps, etc are almost always running on it. I could never ever go back to a 'dumb' non-internet connected GPS...

Thanks fellas. It was alot of work, but well worth it to have something that looks sleek and factory rather than a fast and ugly solution. Anyways i can build ipad 3 removable mounts for about 550$ shipped. Im thinking i can do an ipad mini "permanent" mount for about 400$, and float mount for $550. Well over half the price the big name shops are charging! As soon as i get the ipad mini i ordered i can confirm the prices

How would the sound quality be running the ipad wirelessly? I run my iphone on bluetooth and the sound quality is pretty weak.

Seriously? The sound quality from my DROID Razr is awesome. As good if not better than Sirius or CD

I'm thinking it can be my PAC, but sounds better when I hook it up using the USB. I'm wondering if a bit 1 would take care of that issue.
