Yea, I think I was doing that wrong. Thanks for the tip. As I said, I've never touched my test light before lol.

It's weird though because my ground is only touching metal. There isn't any paint,

Just thought I'd mention it as something to check.
I checked everything over a hundred times. Nothing seems to be strained or pulled out. Unfotrtunately my window for getting this fixed is pretty much closed. I did not forsee any issues (naive, I know) so I tried to get them installed before my afternoon shift at work. If everything had worked, I think the install would've been about 40 mins. As it stands now, I'm going to drive it over to the dealership first thing in the morning and they'll check it out. I'm hoping its something to do with my DRL but I have a feeling its a bigger issue with the actual lights...

or swap them, bulbs first then ballast? it doesn't hurt to try something. or pull it all out and start all over again.

Yea, I had to yank them out to get to work. I'll probably give it another go tonight (it will be late and I'm already annoyed lol) or early tomorrow morning. Hoping for a miracle!

do you have a portable jump starter? if so, I'd hook up the ballast directly to that to rule out the ballast and bulbs are good or bad.

i'd try and get one. you can find them for about $60-80usd. you can return it the same day once you've tested everything. OR hook up the ballast directly to your battery.

FL5OVE ...
Recently did the same install (using the same video as reference) only with *new* components.Only issue I had was that the relay harness was different (shorter wires) than the one in the video, though appeared to be better quality. Just took some extra trial-and-error wire routing scenarios. If the ballasts and bulbs are good, would suspect the relay harness.

Just realized your north of the border where dtr are mandatory. You will want that changed to the front marker lamps or shorten the lifespan of the bulbs/ballasts but it should still come on.

I went from halogen to hid but my dtr were not activated, I activated them later on just to see and it powered the hid's with no issue other than being on full voltage.

The dealer is not going to be of any help other than to help you out of any electrical system warranty you may have down the road, I suggest NOT taking it to them because they only work on what the vehicle came with, not an aftermarket add-on that is the harness.

I would suggest you contact who ever you bought the harness from and find out who they got it from so you can chase down proper product support. There's only a couple people that I know who make them, Tux and I think Bil.

Ugh, that is true. I'm just not sure where to take it as it seems beyond my means to figure out the issue. I have contacted the member I purchased them from so hopefully they will reply soon.

EDIT: Called the dealer. They said it doesn't matter that it is aftermarket. It is only a warranty issue if it causes an issue (duh) but they have no problem working with it. I'd be looking at $150 for them to install.

When I installed mine, same exact setup it was all plug-n-play other than bolting the 2 ground wires to the radiator support and power wire to the battery.

You may wind up paying them $150 just to tell you the harness is bad, I would still wait and find out who made it and they can possibly guide you to either repair the problem or may even issue a warranty replacement harness, not like these things have been around for a long time. Even if you have to buy a new harness that's about $130 on top of $150.
