If poor fuel economy does, or ever will, bother you then don't even look at the 6.2
Just getting a couple more miles per gal save a few hundred bucks a year.

Hey guys,
So I am now in the market for a new F150. I have my options narrowed down to:
White Platinum Tri Coat
Power Sunroof
Tailgate Step
Electronic Locking Rear Axle
4x4
The only thing I have yet to decide on is the engine. I like the low end power of the ecoboost but I like the overall power of the 6.2 (don't get me wrong both engines are fast as hell). I am leaning towards the 6.2. The only thing I can't get over is the mpg. 12 in the city is fine but really???? 16 on the highway?? I know it is a truck and not a prius but is that really all the mpg that can be squeezed out of the 6.2? Opinions appreciated

big deal, 16 spark plugs. It's far better than the Eco cough, sputter, snort, power loss, have your own parking spot at the dealer for repairs kind of stuff! Anyway. No offense to anyone with an Eco, just stating facts. I think Ford should make them ALL trouble free!!

As long as they don't break off in the head of the motor like they do on the 5.4 its really no big deal. Plugs are $8 each and probably need changing once for the life of the truck.

It's amazing that I, With such an ancient copy of the ecoboost, Have had minimal problems. My dad's 6.2 idles like its going to self destruct in the morning.

My opinion is to get the 6.2 engine. I have the 5.0 and have had some of the steering clunk/rattle issues but not so bad yet. I think avoiding the whole EPAS would lead to longer term reliability and higher driving satisfaction. I wish when I bought mine (3/11) they would've had a 6.2 and 3.5 to test drive. Overall, I'm happy with the 5.0 but I wouldn't mind a little extra grunt at time. Btw, I'm averaging 13.5 city/18 highway in my 5.0 4x4 SCrew XLT.
