I've stopped worrying about new my truck getting scratched up. Heck, I haven't even washed it since I picked it up two weeks ago.

Just recently, a friend of mine almost came to blows with a parent over their kid riding a bicycle to close to his car. My friend politely asked the kid to stay away and that prompted the white trash parents sitting across the street to get mad. Ugh, my dad would have crossed the street and beat MY *** and apologized to him.

Scratches are one thing that make me love white trucks. Can't see them.

And that's where the problem lies today.
I did something wrong I caught a good smack. Eventually you smarten up, because those beatings got more painful the older I got.
You know what...I never did those things again, and made me think about my actions going forward.

Man I feel your pain! Like KingRanch4Life said, kids are attracted to vehicles. My kids 3 and 5 are always around vehicles.

My son (3) runs outside with a matchbox car and it doesn't go in the sidewalk or driveway, it goes right down the side of my truck. I tell him constantly to stay away but it never fails. He's the one who put a nice circle scratch in the back passenger door. That kid is gonna drive me nuts!

My daughter (5), well we just got her power wheels mustang out for the first time again this year and she takes off. We have a whole field of a yard to ride in, she does laps around and in between mine and my wife's cars.

Good luck with the fix. Maybe a detailer can try and buff it out. That's what I'm hoping I can do with mine.

Don't worry tho. There's sure to be more scratches in the near future. Lol

I went to my buddies and his kids are using the vehicles in the parking lot as pylons for their bike races. Of course one runs right into mine, two scratches, at least not noticeable, but I knew there's always a chance of that happening there with the wild kids. Blah. Can't blame kids, I mean, really... "How dare you scratch my ridiculously expensive toy, which is meant to move **** around yet I would throw myself between it and a flying pebble if I could???" If you can't afford a scratch, don't buy a truck... and yes, I'm an ****, compulsive cleaning perfectionist myself.

Yeah, kids are gonna be kids, but I like what a buddy of mine did upon moving into a new neighborhood with his young children.

He saw a bunch of kids a few houses down, climbing in/on a minivan. He called them all over, lined 'em up, and told 'em what's up, "I don't care what you do at your house, but don't ever let me catch you playing in/near/on my vehicles. They're vehicles, NOT jungle gyms!"

Says he never had a problem with it Oh, and his own kids didn't scratch his vehicles until his oldest got his license and started driving :\

Some young kid was going around the neighborhood last year keying trucks. He got my superduty from light to light. He merely got a slap on the wrist as you couldn't prove he did it to mine. Another neighbor caught him.

That's like saying if you can't afford a house fire, don't buy a house. Apparently you and I are much different. Even on my mustang that is 12 years old, I still do everything in my power to avoid scratches.
